Lovely, but I think I'm doing something wrong. My BG image is distorted. I tried a few different ones, and they all did the same thing. Did I mess something up? :p

Oops.

Okay so here is the reason for the issue...

First you see how there are two options for a background. The first one is for something like snow... like I have here. You can leave it blank. Second the back-ground size for an image like I used (the Scottish Highlands) is a really big picture so cover means it will fill the screen but be fully visible meaning it adjusts to whatever resolution is viewing it.

With a reoccurring image like you are using change cover to none or remove that line altogether. I've altered the above coding.

Hi, just dropped by to say that I have taken this layout code for my personal journal as well as a profile code from your past entries with a few tweaks and have credited both to you on my profile.

With thanks! :-)

Hi, I wonder what's wrong here
my LJ looks like this after applying and following your instruction (in a way, I think I did understood them ^^")

Jill aka Jo: Outlander: Dancing around stonessireesanwar on February 2nd, 2014 02:17 am (UTC)
It looks like you need to insert the background image url for the image you want. Also, the sidebar isn't populating, have you checked what you want on your sidebar.

Hi ^^
Thanks for sharing this wonderful layout and I already tried working on it but I have problems with the background image. Even if i placed the correct links it just wont appear on the background all I can see is just a plain solid color background. And as soon as i add the header image (using the instructions on the fixed header image) and the whole setting just dissappear. What should I do??

Sorry for the inconveniences...
Jill aka Josireesanwar on February 18th, 2014 12:19 am (UTC)
Send me links to the background and header images you want and I'll code it so you can copy and paste.

Hello! Good day!
I just wandering how can I remove the shadow around the sidebar?
Jill aka Josireesanwar on February 25th, 2014 07:08 am (UTC)
Find the #sidebar section and remove the coding that looks like this:

-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.8), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);

I'm sorry to ask this here, but I wanted you to know what image/banner I'm referring to. Did you make that butterfly friends only banner in the preview? If so, can you tell me where to find it? I looked in the graphics community, but to no avail.
Jill aka Jo: Stock: be an owlsireesanwar on April 16th, 2014 06:38 pm (UTC)
Don't apologize. I'd really rather you ask me then not find what you are looking for.

Okay so I didn't make it... pretty though isn't it.

Thanks! I always adore your style. I have a question though.. how do I remove the line below the entry's title font? as I prefer it without line. Thanks again!
Jill aka Josireesanwar on May 27th, 2014 05:40 am (UTC)
Okay so I don't see a line but I'm thinking it is underlined which is a browser thing.

Is it possible that your browser has your links underlined? If this is turned off then we have an issue because there is no underlining in the coding.

Let me know and I will see what else we can come up with.
KSenakseenaa on June 2nd, 2014 08:58 pm (UTC)
Grabbed this layout just now. :-) Felt it was time for a change since I've had the layout I used to for years.

I only have one issue, and I don't know how to solve it. I don't like how you have to scroll through the links-list. Is there a way to get rid of the scrolling option? So I just see ALL the links at the same time? If you get what I mean? *lol*
Jill aka Jo: Misc: Garfield Mischieve Managedsireesanwar on June 3rd, 2014 06:46 pm (UTC)
You made perfect sense.

In the coding find this section...

#sidebar_linklist {
list-style-type:none;
padding-top:2px;
text-align: left !important;
text-transform:lowercase;
height: 100px; overflow-x: hidden; overflow-y: auto;}

Change the height to 100% and you'll always have a full link list.

Hi, I'm new to CSS and I am trying your layout. I'm having a few problems with it. On my journal, recent entries, archive, friends, etc at the top is getting underlined. Is there a way to remove that? My username is showing up under the user pic and I'd liked to remove it, if possible. Also, is there a way to make the comment box and side bar transparent like it is in this layout? http://layout-lounge.livejournal.com/39977.html#cutid1
Jill aka Jo: SPN: Dean I Can't Fight this Feelinsireesanwar on May 7th, 2015 08:44 pm (UTC)
So I'm not seeing underlining. The problem might lie with your browser. If you are using Firefox... this is how to turn that off.

As for the transparency. The sidebar is transparent but the background makes it hard to see it. You could go to the sidebar section of your coding:

#sidebar {
padding: 0px 0 10px 0;
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7) ;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0,
0.5);
-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0,
0.5);
box-shadow: 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7), inset 0 0 20px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
margin-left: 10px;
margin-right:-10px;
font-family: open sans condensed, arial, georgia;
font-size: 11px;
color: #ffffff;
width: 260px;
float: right;
text-align: left;
text-transform: normal;
right: 5px;
}

This is the line you'd change
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.7);

Maybe go to:
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);

Hope that helps.
